The Artist – John Schultz
John Schultz is one such artist. A retired wheat and tomato farmer, he now expresses his artistic flare in wood. But not just any wood, Australian hardwoods. Although, these woods are beautiful, they are rare and often difficult to find and generally only available where they have been salvaged. The rarity and difficulty in working with Australian hardwoods makes John’s products even more valuable. Working with hardwoods is not a straight forward operation, as the name implies, they are hard and brittle. There is a specific set of skills required to produce and finish the products. Even though John is humble about his skills, those who know wood will appreciate the time, effort and skill that goes into these products.
